WWE adds a condition for Liv Morgan vs Ronda Rousey’s SmackDown Women’s Match to Strict Rules

Plenty of WWE Extreme Rules cards are still popping up, but one match that has already been closed to the premium live event is the rematch between SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey for the title. During tonight’s SmackDown, Rousey was interviewed about the upcoming rematch and she didn’t have much to say at first. That’s when Morgan jumped in and said Rousey didn’t respect her despite being pinned twice, so to earn that respect she had to hit her again, and this time she would do so in a tough rules match.

Rossi was shocked by Morgan’s challenge and laughed a little before saying “Want a hard rules match with me?” Morgan was unfazed and shook her head yes, and Rossi replied, “It’s your funeral.” Then she tore the microphone and threw it to the ground as she left.

As of now, this is the first match to require strict PLE rules, although there will hopefully be more in the final card. This promises to be a tough match between the two and allows both of them to go all out, so odds are if Morgan wins here Rossi will have to finally give her that respect.

Morgan recently spoke about what she values most about being a champion and what is most important to her reign as a champion in a new interview with Ovarian ReportAnd, for her, it’s all about being a fighting hero.

“I just want to be a great hero,” Morgan said. “I want to be a great champion, defending champion and champion. I know it sounds boring, but when I grew up as a little girl, that was all I dreamed of, to hold this women’s championship and to be the best champion I could be.

“I saw a stat the other day, I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I’m one in seven people in WWE who have had the most matches so far in 2022. That’s exactly the kind of champion I want to be. I want To get to work. I want to show everyone how ready I am to work and how much this means to me and how ready I am to fight for this.”
